19 countries register to attend Vietnam Int’l Defence Expo 2024
VOV.VN - More than businesses from 19 countries have so far registered to participate in the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 to be held later this year, heard a conference held in Hanoi on April 20.
More businesses are expected to register for the event in the coming months, said a representative of the Ministry of National Defense.
He also revealed that the Ministry of National Defense plans to invite more than 120 international delegations from 50 countries to the expo.
Themed ‘Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development,” the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will be held at Gia Lam Airport on the outskirts of Hanoi from December 19 to 22.
The expo, to be organized by the Ministry of National Defense, is to share achievements and experiences in research, production, exploitation and use of weapons and technical equipment, and to promote cooperation in the field of defense industry between Vietnam and participating countries.
The expo takes place at a time when the Vietnam People’s Army is marking its 80th founding anniversary which marks a milestone in building and developing the army in general and the defense industry in particular, said Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee.
It will give Vietnamese businesses the opportunity to improve production capacity and competitiveness for product exports and join the global supply chain, bringing revenue for the country and businesses, stated the General.
Highlights of the opening ceremony will be an air demonstration by the air force and a demonstration by special commando force. On display at booths will be defense and security products and technologies of defense industry companies.
There will be business exchanges and military seminars, along with art performances to introduce unique Vietnamese culture during the four-day event.
