Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Dien Bien Phu provincial Party Committee Do Duc Vuong reviewed the Vietnamese military forces and people’s glorious tradition and their resounding Dien Bien Phu victory under the clear-sighted leadership of the Party and great President Ho Chi Minh.

Promoting the tradition of the heroic Dien Bien Phu City and grasping the Party’s renewal policy, the city over the past years has maintained an annual economic growth rate of 16 percent, adopted social welfare policies and properly addressed pending social issues in the locality.

The city is mobilizing all resources and creating favourable conditions for all economic sectors to develop with a focus on trade and tourism. The city plans to turn Dien Bien Phu into a socio-economic center of the north-western region.
