The Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, confirmed that developing human resources is one of fields which both sides need to pay more attention to. She emphasised that both sides will devise effective cooperation plans so that Vietnam and African countries have enough trained workers to reduce poverty and develop their economies to fulfill their millennium goals by 2015.
In recent years, Vietnam has been keen on cooperating with African nations. Through international and domestic forums, Vietnam has shared its experiences and models of cooperation with many African nations. However, this still remains modest. Although both sides have signed agreements in economics, trade, agriculture and culture, there has not been an agreement on labour and social affairs.
At the seminar, the delegates agreed that it is necessary to step up the signing of legal frameworks to lay a foundation for cooperation in labour and social affairs, especially in speeding up the process of sharing experiences and exchanging specialists of mutual benefit.
