Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem warmly received Ambassador Kim Chang-il of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Hanoi on April 14.

At the reception, Deputy Prime Minister Khiem said he was pleased to witness the development of cooperative relations between Vietnam and the DPRK in recent times.

He expressed his hope that during his working term in Vietnam, Ambassador Kim Chang-il will actively contribute to strengthening friendship relations between the two nations.

Khiem also wished that the DPRK government and people would achieve further success in the national construction and development.

For his part, Kim Chang-il praised the great achievements the Vietnamese people have made under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He highly valued Vietnam’s key role in the international arena, affirming that he will spare no effort to help tighten the ties of traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
