Vietnam will do its utmost to make next year’s World Buddhist Summit in Hanoi successful, said Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem while receiving the Secretary General of the World Buddhist Summit, Hiroshi Fujikura, in Hanoi on May 21.
He asked the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to work closely with relevant agencies and the World Buddhist Council to ensure the success of the meeting.
The Most Venerable said that he had inspected venues for the summit, including Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and the provinces of Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh. He thanked the Vietnamese government for creating favourable conditions for the summit to take place in Hanoi.
