Deputy PM receives US Indiana University Professor
VOV.VN -Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on March 13 hosted a reception for Prof. Andreas Hauskrecht, a public finance expert at the Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Hue told his guest that the Vietnamese government leaders always appreciate useful feedback on directing the macro-economy from experts and scholars, adding that the cabinet leader also wishes to get feedback from his economic consulting group to revamp the country's macro-economic policy.
Deputy PM Hue proposed Prof. Hauskrecht continue assisting Vietnamese agencies in the near future, particularly sharing information and experience in financial management in connecting with the US prestigious professors and scholars, and the world’s leading think-tanks and experts.
He thanked the professor for closer collaboration with Vietnamese agencies to share information, analyse domestic and foreign economic situations, and give policy recommendations to the Vietnamese government.
Hauskrecht, in turn, shared his nation's fiscal and monetary policies over recent years and impacts on Vietnam, and made recommendations to the Vietnamese government in dealing with the macro-economy in 2018 and the years to come.
He said he is impressed withVietnam’s economic growth in 2017 and voiced support for the policy of maintaining macro-economic stability to ensure sustainable growth in the near future.
The Professor highlighted Vietnamese government’s de-dollarization as a proper policy and suggested maintaining a zero-percent interest rate for the US dollar.
