Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem to visit the US

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem will pay an official visit to the US from March 11-16 at the invitation of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, announced Le Dung, spokesperson of the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on March 1, Mr Dung said the visit aims to boost bilateral cooperation in such areas as economics, trade, science and technology, and education and training.

The two sides will also discuss measures to implement agreements reached during US President George W. Bush’s visit to Vietnam last November, Mr Dung added.
