Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong visited the Ben Tre provincial leaders for the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) on January 31.
He was briefed on the province’s socio-economic achievements last year and its orientation for development in 2011.
Mr. Trong said that the province’s ultimate target for 2011 is to stabilise the macro economy and control inflation to ensure production and social welfare. The government will invest to build a sea dyke from Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Ca Mau to minimise the negative impact of the raising sea level caused by climate change.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the provincial leaders to continue working on and complete the infrastructure, exploit the province’s potential and create preferential conditions to attract more investors.
