Vietnam and China have agreed in principle to accelerate the establishment of an Eastern Medicine Institute in Vietnam and boost bilateral cooperation in tourism and culture between the two countries.

On April 25, a high-level Vietnamese Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan paid a working visit to China and met Wang Yang, politbureau member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Guangdong provincial Party Committee.

Mr Nhan and Mr Wang underscored the need to promote bilateral cooperation in tourism and culture by conducting more cultural exchanges in the future.

Deputy PM Nhan worked with representatives from Guangdong’s Department of Education and the Department of Science and Technology.

During the meeting, the Vietnamese delegation shared experiences in training and using human resources from businesses in Guangdong and discussed a number of specific issues with a view to increasing the number of Vietnamese students studying in Guangdong.

On April 26, Deputy PM Nhan made a survey tour of Guangzhou.
