General Thanh expressed his delight at the development of bilateral defence ties, especially since the two countries signed an agreement on defence cooperation. 

He said Vietnam’s military policy is of peace and self-defence, adding that Vietnam does not join any military alliance organisation, allows foreign countries to establish military base or use its territory against other countries. 

Mr. Sola informed the host of the outcomes of his talks with Deputy Minister of National Defence, Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh. 

The two sides also discussed measures to further promote friendship and defence cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, for the benefit of the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
