A high-ranking military delegation led by Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh arrived in Singapore on June 2 to attend the 10th International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Asian Security Summit, which opened on June 3.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Defence Minister Liet. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh, Chief of the Defence Ministry Office Major-General Vu Van Hien and other officials.
Participants in the event, also known as the Shangri-La Dialogue, will deliberate defence policies and the security situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
The three-day summit drew presidents, prime ministers, deputy prime ministers, defence ministers, defence secretaries of state, commanders, chiefs of general staff, foreign ministers and scholars from 28 countries worldwide.
