The visit is as part of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.
Prince Frederik will be accompanied by Minister for Trade and Investment, Pia Olsen Dyhr, and representatives from Danish companies and educational institutes.
While staying in Vietnam, the Danish Prince will meet with Vietnamese State and Government leaders. He will go for a bicycle rice around Hoan Kiem (Restored Sword) Lake in Hanoi together with Vietnamese Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang.
On this occasion, a number of cultural and sports events will be held, such as a Danish film show, a ‘La Ventana’ ballet at the Hanoi Opera House; a solar car race in Ho Chi Minh City, and a badminton match between Vietnam's world No.7 Nguyen Tien Minh and Denmark’s world No.4 Peter Gade.
A Climate Change Week will start on November 29 with seminars on green growth, food safety and renewable energy, and photographic, painting and installation art exhibitions on climate change.
Denmark and Vietnam established diplomatic ties in 1971. The Danish embassy opened in Hanoi in 1980, and the Vietnamese embassy in Copenhagen in 2000.
Over the past four decades, bilateral ties have grown and flourished in various fields, including trade, culture, environment and education.
