While working with provincial leaders on January 8, Mr Triet praised local leaders and people’s efforts to achieve a rapid economic growth rate, ensure security and defence, improve living conditions and strengthen great national unity. In particular, he highlighted the establishment of close ties with neighbouring Cambodia and development of border areas, despite a number of difficulties.

Dak Nong has grown at an average annual rate of 15 percent, achieving a per capital income of VND13.8 million per year. Education and training has been developed, resulting in an increasing number of classes and schools. The medical system has been strengthened and developed while job generation targets have been fulfilled.

Mr Triet urged the provincial leaders to upgrade the skill-base of the local workforce to meet the need of the industrialization and modernization process and the requirements of investors.

In terms of judicial reform, Mr Triet spoke highly of the province’s successful implementation of the Party Politburo’s Resolution 49, helping to improve the quality of adjudication.  He asked the province to pay more attention to training and strengthening legal education for citizens.
