At a working session with provincial leaders, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperative and investment ties between the Czech Republic and Quang Binh.
The Prague University of Economics pledged to grant 50-100 scholarships to Vietnamese students each year to pursue studies at the Czech university for three years after two years of study at the Quang Binh University.
Czech businesspeople, who are accompanying the delegation, introduced advanced technologies in the fields where they boast strengths, and agreed to transfer water treatment and filtering technology to Quang Binh province.
In turn, the local authorities spoke of Quang Binh’s potential and strengths as well as investment incentives.
During their stay in Quang Binh, the Czech guests called in at a kaolin sifting factory in Dong Hoi city, and toured the Phong Nha – Ke Bang world natural heritage site as well as some scenery in the province.
The Czech Republic is building a US$35 million factory to produce kaolin and products for insulation and sanitation in Quang Binh. The plant is capable of churning out 50,000 tonnes of kaolin a year in the first phase and 100,000 tonnes a year in the second phase.
