Culture is the spiritual foundation of the society: State President

President Sang emphasized this while visiting the Vietnam Ethnic Culture-Tourism Village in Hanoi on February 4.

During his visit, Mr Sang witnessed a Red Dao ethnic wedding staged by artisan Phan Van Phu and young ethnic people from Tuyen Quang northern mountain province. The traditional wedding with simple ceremonies demonstrates just one of the unique cultural customs that need preservation.

The State leader also learnt about Cham and Khmer ethnic architecture and wished all the ethnic peoples a happy and prosperous New Year.

He urged the Village’s experts and technicians to focus on making the tourism site a national cultural project to preserve the cultural values of ethnic groups.

The village management board should uphold the country’s traditions of great national unity, improve ethnic people’s living conditions  and effectively implement the Party Central Committee Resolution 5 on building and developing a progressive Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.

The same day, President Sang attended a tree planting festival organized by the Party Committee of centrally-run agencies bloc.
