CPV marks 96th anniversary in France amid strong confidence in Party leadership
VOV.VN - On January 31, the Embassy of Vietnam in France held a formal ceremony to mark the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), review Party work in 2025, and celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress.
Those in attendance at the event were Pham Quang Anh, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Vietnam in France; Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO; representatives of Vietnamese missions, along with a large number of overseas Vietnamese from different generations in France.
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh said the past 96 years have been a glorious historical journey of the Party, involving hardship and challenges alongside resilience and achievement.
Since its founding, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) established, nurtured and led by President Ho Chi Minh, has consistently upheld the goal of national independence as sociated with socialism, leading the Vietnamese people from one victory to another.
In that context, she said, the 14th National Party Congress represents a milestone of particular importance, reflecting a thorough review as well as the inheritance and creative development of the Party’s line set out by previous congresses, especially the 13th National Congress. The congress is closely linked to the review of 40 years of the renewal process and the commemoration of the Party’s 96th anniversary.
For officials currently carrying out duties in France, the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress serves as a guiding reference for action.
Vu Thai Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee in France, said Party members, officials and the Vietnamese community in France take great pride in the success of the 14th National Party Congress. Its outcomes, he noted, have once again affirmed the Party’s firm leadership role, strengthened unity in thinking and action, and reinforced confidence in the Party’s intellectual capacity and the strength of national solidarity.
For his part, Dr Vo Toan Trung, a medical specialist and representative of the overseas Vietnamese intellectual community in France, said the success of the 14th National Congress will make an important contribution to advancing science, technology and innovation in Vietnam in the period ahead.
“With the leadership of Party General Secretary To Lam, Resolution 57 will be translated into practice, helping move Vietnam toward becoming a modern and developed country in the new period. This demonstrates the long-held aspiration and shared wish of overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, particularly those in France,” he said.
In 2025, the Embassy of Vietnam in France carried out external relations work in a comprehensive and coordinated manner across three pillars: Party external relations, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, alongside engagement by ministries, sectors and localities. These efforts contributed positively to the effective implementation of the Vietnam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO actively coordinated the implementation of assigned tasks and recorded several notable results. After 11 years, Vietnam secured the inscription of a new World Heritage site by UNESCO: the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac complex of monuments and landscapes.
Amid the atmosphere marking the Party anniversary, the Lunar New Year and the success of the 14th National Party Congress, participants at the ceremony expressed firm confidence in the Party’s leadership role. This confidence, they said, underpins not only the country’s sustainable development but also hopes for a stable and prosperous future for the nation.
That spirit of unity and confidence continues to serve as an important driving force for efforts to build and defend the country in a new era of national advancement.
