The Vietnamese delegation presented a message of congratulations from the CPV to the convention.

In an address delivered to the event and discussion with CPUSA leaders, the Vietnamese officials thanked the US party and left-wing forces for supporting Vietnam during the struggle for national independence and construction.

Informing the country’s standout achievements in the Doi Moi (reform) process, the delegation affirmed that the CPV consistently treasures the traditional relations with communist parties, workers’ parties, as well as left-wing forces across the world.

Leaders of the CPUSA spoke highly of the delegation’s attendance at the event, describing it as a great spiritual encouragement for the US party.

Both sides also reached consensus on measures to boost the traditional ties and friendship between the two parties and two nations as a whole.

More than 200 delegates from the US’s states and nine foreign communist party delegations joined the CPUSA’s convention, which focused on US working class, climate change and Green New Deal; anti-oppression for equality and democracy; and domestic and global demilitarization, among others.

The delegates reviewed the party’s building and development in the past century, and asserted their determination to develop the party to increase its position in the US’s political life for global democracy, equality, peace and solidarity.

The convention elected a new committee with 71 members, Rosana Camberon and Joh Sim voted as Co-President of the party.

The participants also commemorated the dead communist soldiers and honoured excellent party members.

During their stay in the US, the Vietnamese delegation had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in the host nation, and met with representatives from the US Department of State, Congress, and partners, discussing issues of mutual interests.
