CPV appreciative of policy exchange with German party

VOV.VN - The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) places great importance on the exchange of theories and policies with ruling and political parties of countries worldwide, including in Germany.

Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the Politburo and chairman of the CPV's Central Theory Council, made the statement during a reception held on May 14 in Hanoi for a delegation of German's Social Democratic Party (SPD) co-led by Alexander Schweitzer, member of the SPD Central Committee, and Dr. Nils Schmid, SPD Parliamentary Group Foreign Policy Spokesman. This was given during the occasion of their working visit to the nation to attend the eighth theoretical dialogue between the two parties.

The host hailed the outcomes of the eighth dialogue and working sessions between officials of the two parties during the SPD delegation's trip. 

He went on to reaffirm the Vietnamese Party and State’s external policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, co-operation, development, diversification, and multilateralization of relations, particularly with active and proactive integration into the world, stating that Vietnam is a reliable and responsible friend and partner with the international community.

Expressing appreciation for the fruitful ties and friendship between the CPV and the SPD within the framework of the joint strategic partnership, Thang underlined similarities between the two countries in approaching development policies. He noted that the two parties should step up greater efforts to bolster practical and effective ties for the causes of peace, co-operation, and development in the region and in the world, as well as for democracy, justice, social progress, and the interests of their people.

For their part, the German guests expressed their admiration and congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in the cause of “doi moi”, as well as the country’s recent economic recovery and growth.

They stressed that the SPD greatly appreciated the dialogue mechanism with the CPV, one of the most important partners of the German party, as well as the eighth dialogue.

The German officials agreed with Thang's assessment of the importance of the eighth dialogue, affirming that the dialogue and their visit to Vietnam continues to deepen mutual understanding and trust, as well as the friendship and linkages between the two parties as a contribution to strengthening  the joint strategic partnership.

During the course of the eighth theoretical dialogue, both sides compared notes on issues related to peace and development amid a changing world; as well as the planning and implementation of policies aimed at ensuring peace and stability for sustainable development, climate change adaptation, and economic and energy transition in each country.

As part of this occasion, Le Hoai Trung, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, received the SPD’s delegation, during which the two sides shared views on regional and international issues of shared concern. In addition, they discussed a score measures to further enhance relations between the two parties, thereby further deepening the bilateral strategic partnership in a more substantive manner.

During the course of their trip the German guests visited President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Presidential Palace complex and held working sessions with representatives of some ministries and sectors to learn more about Vietnamese policies on energy conversion and sustainable socio-economic development.
