In their message, the Vietnamese leaders affirmed belief that under the leadership of Thein Sein, Myanmar will attain greater achievements in the national construction and development, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large. 

On the same day, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan addressed a congratulatory message to Tin Aung Myint Oo, who was elected as Vice President of Myanmar. 

Earlier on February 1, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong sent congratulatory messages to Myanmar’s newly-elected upper house speaker Khin Aung Myint and lower house speaker Thura Shwe Mann, respectively, on their taking offices.
