Mr Manh inquired into the General’s health and expressed appreciation for his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese nation.

General Giap is forever a bright example, a prominent student of President Ho Chi Minh, an elder of the people’s armed forces, and an eminent strategist and military commander of the Vietnamese army, said Mr Manh.

He said General Giap has been admired by international friends and is the pride of the Party, State and people of Vietnam. 

Mr Manh wished Vo Nguyen Giap good health and longevity and hoped he would make more contributions to the Party and nation.

He said the Party, State and people are determined to take opportunities, overcome challenges to speed up national industrialization and modernization, to firmly build and defend the socialist nation.
