Congratulations to Cambodia on Independence Day
VOV.VN - A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung extended congratulations to the Embassy of Cambodia on the country’s 66th Independence Day during their visit made on November 5 in Hanoi.
Meeting with Cambodian Ambassador Chay Navuth, who has just started his tenure in Vietnam, Deputy FM Dung said Vietnam is elated at the outstanding achievements Cambodia has recorded over the past 66 years, particularly its impressive economic growth rate in recent years.
Both sides have achieved remarkable progress, as shown by regular high-level exchange visits and contacts, he said while lauding the official visit by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Vietnam in early October, during which the two sides signed two treaties recognizing the finalization of 84 percent of the workload in border demarcation and border marker planting along their land border line.
Ambassador Chay Navuth told his guest that the National Assembly of Cambodia adopted the two treaties on November 4 and pledged to do his utmost during his tenure to propel the comprehensive and substantial development of bilateral ties forwards.
He also voiced his nation’s support for Vietnam as Chair of ASEAN in 2020 and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
