The conference reviewed the implementation of agreements signed by the two ministries and regulations of the judiciary sector stipulated in the agreement on the Vietnam-Laos border.

More than 100 delegates from the two countries’ Ministries of Justice and the Justice Departments from 10 Vietnamese and 10 Lao border provinces discussed measures to reinforce security along the border and effectively implement the 1999 Cua Lo Memorandum of Understanding dealing with issues related to household records and the nationality of citizens on both sides.

They also discussed ways to implement the cooperation agreements between the two ministries for the 2011-2015 period, coordinate between the two ministries and local judiciary agencies, and ensure legitimate rights and interests in line with the laws of both countries.
