According to newspapers, the Chinese top Party and state leader highly valued the development of relations between the two parties and countries in recent times, saying that the relations of friendship and comprehensive co-operation between China and Vietnam have been constantly consolidated and strengthened. He said together with Vietnam, China wants to foster the traditional friendship between the two countries under the motto “‘friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-lasting stability and future-oriented vision," actively implement the bilateral co-operation agreements, maintain the rapid growth of trade relations, resolve issued related to land and sea borders, closely coordinate in regional and international issues and strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations in all fields for mutual benefit.

NA Chairman Trong emphasized that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing and strengthening the traditional friendship with China. The Vietnamese Party and Government also want to bring bilateral relations to a new height under the moto of 16 golden words.

In recent days, China TV, Radio and websites covered the activities of the NA Chairman and his entourage in Beijing.

The Xinhua News Agency carried an article entitled “Vietnam: a new emerging economy in Asia”, praising Vietnam as one of the world’s fastest growing economies and an attractive destination for investors.

The author quoted a number of figures, showing rapid development of the Vietnamese economy and affirmed that since 1989 Vietnam has become one of emerging economies with spectacular growth after China and India and also an attractive destination for foreign investors as it has an abundant cheap supply of labour and natural resources.

The author also emphasized that Vietnam’s economic achievements have been recorgnised by international community, and that there are signs of new investment flowing into the country soon.
