Lieutenant General Bui Van Huan, Deputy Director of the General Political Department in the Vietnam People’s Army, received a delegation from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in Hanoi on September 2.

The Chinese delegation, led by Zhang Dewei, a former Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam and Deputy Head of the China-Vietnam Friendship Association, is in Vietnam to attend a programme entitled “Meeting International Friends”, an activity to mark Vietnam’s 65th National Day.

At the reception, Huan expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Party, State and people for their assistance to Vietnam during its two struggles for national independence as well as in the current national construction and development process.

Dewei head said he was pleased to visit Vietnam and witness the country’s socio-economic development achievements first hand.

He said he believes that the close ties between the two countries will continue to prosper during the new revolutionary period ensuring peace and stability in the region and the world at large.
