A sports and cultural exchange programme was held in Hanoi on September 26 to mark China’s 62nd National Day (October 1).
At the event, President of the Hanoi Chapter of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association (VCFA) Hoang Vinh Giang congratulated the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Giang said he was happy at China’s great successes over the past 62 years and highlighted its open-door policy over the past 33 years.
As a member of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, the Hanoi Chapter is committed to building and developing the friendship between Vietnam and China, said Giang.
For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou said the two Parties and States have always perished in strengthening the close friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two nations since the normalisation of their relationship over the past 20 years.
He expressed hope that the two nations will continue cooperation and development in a friendly and peacefully manner.
