The Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, Hu Qianwen, held a talk on his country’s socio-economic development over the past year with members of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association (VCFA) in Hanoi on September 26.

The event, part of the celebrations of China’s 59th National Day (October 1), saw the attendance of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations President, Vu Xuan Hong.

VCFA President Doan Manh Giao then took the floor, congratulating the Chinese Party, State and people on their fantastic socio-economic achievements over the past year, particularly the successful hosting of the Beijing Olympic Games in August, despite facing various difficulties caused by natural disasters.

Both host and guest stressed that the friendship between the Vietnamese and Chinese people is a foundation for Vietnam-China traditional cooperation that was nurtured by the late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong.

They also emphasized the need to further foster bilateral relations between the two nations in order to bring practical benefits to both countries.
