The Communist Party and people of China are determined to develop China-Vietnam relations in a comprehensive, long-term and sustainable manner, stated Jia Qinglin, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (CPCCC).

The Chinese Party official received Ho Duc Viet, member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Organisation Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), in Beijing on March 13.

Mr Jia, who is also Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, asked his guest to convey Chinese Party General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao's warm regards to Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Nguyen Minh Triet and other Vietnamese leaders.

For his part, Mr Viet, who is also a member of the CPVCC's Secretariat, stressed that the relationship between Vietnam and China has been growing fruitfully thanks to efforts from both sides.

The Communist Party and people of Vietnam have attached great importance to new developmental steps in the relations between the two Parties and States, he said.

The Vietnamese official expressed his belief that the implementation of high-level agreements under the "16-word" motto and the "four-good" spirits will help Vietnamese-Chinese ties develop constantly.

On March 11, Mr Viet held talks with He Guoqiang, member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat and Head of the Organisation Department of the CPCCC.

The two sides shared experiences in Party building work and discussed measures to further promote relations between the two Parties, including the Party organisation bodies.

During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also worked with the Chinese Central Party School and visited Shanghai and Shenzhen.
