On March 18, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh paid a courtesy call on Fu Ziying, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), at the start of his tenure in China.
During the meeting, both sides applauded the strong progress in bilateral ties, emphasizing that under the strategic guidance of their top leaders and joint efforts from ministries and localities, Vietnam-China relations are at their best, achieving substantial and wide-ranging results.
The Vietnamese diplomat congratulated China on the successful third session of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the 14th National People's Congress (NPC). He expressed confidence that with its huge potential, abundant resources, and strategic vision, China is well-positioned to achieve its development goals, sustain stable growth, and create further opportunities for regional countries, including Vietnam.
He reaffirmed that Vietnam prioritizes strengthening friendship and cooperation with China, considering it a strategic choice in its foreign policy. He also welcomed the deepening ties between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the NPC, calling for continued high-level exchanges to bolster political trust and accelerate the implementation of their cooperation agreement.
Fu Ziying emphasized that China consistently places Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements. He expressed confidence in Vietnam’s continued progress and affirmed the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee’s commitment to bolstering cooperation with the Vietnamese National Assembly, bringing practical benefits to both nations.
