China expert: Vietnam-China ties maintain a positive and healthy development trend

VOV.VN - The relationship between the nation and China has maintained its positive and healthy development over recent years, according to Wei Wei, head of the Vietnamese department under China’s central TV and radio station.

He recently told media outlets that both sides have continued with high-level strategic contacts through phone talks between senior leaders.

Recalling their mutual support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, he highlighted China as being one of the main countries that provided vaccines for Vietnam in a timely manner, vividly demonstrating the friendship and the tradition of mutual support that exists between the two neighbouring countries.
The two nations have therefore utilised their reciprocal advantages in the spirit of mutual benefits, whilst ramping up pragmatic co-operation in terms of economics, trade, and investment, he continued.

Furthermore, the country remains China’s largest trade partner in ASEAN, the journalist added.
He highlighted similarities between the two countries in terms of the political system, traditional cultural identities, and development goals.

Vietnamese and Chinese Party and State leaders are currently striving to deepen the bilateral comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership in the new situation, Wei said. He went on to outline that the two sides have enhanced solidarity and co-operation, shared wishes for development, supported and maintained multilateralism, and promoted common values of humankind.

The relationship has been growing intensively and extensively over recent years, with the comprehensive strategic co-operative becoming increasingly diverse, he added.
