Ceremony marks the 35th anniversary of Da Lat liberation

A ceremony was held in Da Lat on April 3 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the city’s liberation (April 3, 1975 – April 3, 2010).

Thirty-five years after its liberation in 1975, Da Lat city has developed strongly, especially socio-economically and raising the standard of living. The city has maintained political stability and also ensured national security.
In 2009, despite numerous difficulties and challenges posed by the global economic downturn, Da Lat recorded GDP growth of 15.1 percent, and the annual average income increased to VND17.5 million per capita from VND14.5 million in 2008 and VND12 million in 2007. The city’s economic structure has changed in a positive direction, with tourism and services accounting for 72 percent, while the poverty rate has dropped to 1.5 percent.
