In the past year, the two border provinces coordinated to educate local people about the implementation of their countries’ border agreements and to combat cross-border crimes and smuggling. They also helped more than 150,000 people with immigration procedures.

Additionally, in a spirit of unity and friendship, the two sides conducted joint patrols to protect the borderline and border markers under the signed agreements. They have exchanged information about rice production, with Dong Thap providing Prey Veng farmers with planting and caring techniques, which has helped increase their food output.

In the reviewed period, Dong Thap examined and treated over 5,000 Cambodian patients and built roads and power supply systems in some areas in Prey Veng.

In return, Prey Veng assisted Vietnam considerably in searching for and retrieving the remains of volunteer Vietnamese soldiers fallen in combat in the Cambodian province during the previous wars.
