A Cambodian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, who is the chairwoman of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) visited the southern province of Binh Duong on June 24.

The delegation met with provincial leaders, the provincial women’s union and the businesswomen’s club who proudly said that despite the impact of the global financial crisis, Binh Duong has maintained a GDP growth rate of 7.1 percent.

Ms Men Sam An praised the province’s social economic development and its women union’s active role in helping women overcome their difficulties. Ms Men introduced Cambodian achievements in recent years and thanked Vietnam for helping the Cambodian people escape the Genocidal regime and rebuild the country. She expressed her wish that the ties of friendship and co-operation between the two countries would further develop.

On the occasion, the delegation also visited the historic Dai Nam and Minh Sang Plaza.
