Representatives from foreign and domestic associations on July 6 attended a press conference on the role of the business community in the country’s administration reform process held by the Advisory Council.

In response to participants’ questions about the role of the council, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister, Chairman of the Government Office, said the cooperation between public and private sectors in the reform of administration procedures has been very effective.

Established in 2008, the council includes 15 members from foreign and domestic associations which represent the private sector on the issue. Through the council, the Government encourages all economic sectors to contribute to the work.

The council has set up 15 groups working in the reform of administrative procedures in 15 fields including real estate and construction, investment, mineral resources, banking and securities, telecommunications and intellectual property, medicine, distribution and retail sales, advertising, transportation, taxation, customs services, labour, justice, and education development.

The councils have conducted a variety of activities including seminars, symposiums, meetings, and surveys of the business community.
