Entitled ‘Vietnam-China – Border of Peace and Friendship’, the exhibition provides visitors with a clearer picture of the importance of the demarcation and the planting of border markers, says Nguyen Truong Giang, head of the Foreign Ministry’s Communications and Document Department.
It highlights the eight-year negotiation process which began after the signing of the Vietnam-China land border treaty in 1999.
On display are internationally recognized legal documents defining the current border between Vietnam and China and photos of the markers planted along the border in line with a treaty signed between the French Government (in the name of Vietnam) and China’s Qing Court on June 26, 1887.
The exhibition is at 45 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem district, and scheduled to run until April 13.
