Vietnam’s Son La province and the Lao province of Luangphabang have planted 13 markers along their 32-km common border.

They are the first provinces to have completed the planting of border markers on the Vietnam-Laos borderline.

The existing land markers have been inspected and maintained by the two provinces’ functional agencies.

The planting of border markers aim to strengthen bilateral friendship, boost socio-economic development and ensure peace and national security for both countries.
