The Party Central Committee Commission for Information and Education held a conference on November 29 on promoting communication about sea and island and border demarcation.

Bui The Duc, Vice Head of the Commission for Information and Education, said the event aimed to discuss ways to improve the quality of information available to overseas Vietnamese about the country’s national defence and foreign policies in the new context, religious situation, and the struggle against plots by hostile forces that try to use human rights issues to sabotage Vietnam.

The event provided localities and agencies the chance to share experiences to help improve the quality of communication about the country’s seas and islands, as well as border demarcation.

Participants in the conference discussed the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and ways to deal with the emerging situation in the East Sea, as well as protecting the country’s sovereignty and security in the sea and islands.

Presentations at the conference were focused on issues related to the country’s borders such as security and two-way trade between Vietnam and countries that share its land border, and border demarcation.
