Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged southern Binh Duong province to make the most of its opportunities and lead the country’s process of industrialisation and modernisation.

The government leader made the call at a meeting held on April 20 to review work by the provincial delegation of deputies to the 11th National Assembly.
PM Dung asked local authorities the province to reach gross domestic product (GDP) growth of beyond 15 percent.

Binh Duong should focus on restructuring the local economy and developing human resources, particularly high-quality personnel staff, he said.

Last year, the province posted a GDP growth of 15 percent with per capita income of nearly US$1,100. The province attracted a total of US$1.78 billion in foreign direct investment.
