A 16-member delegation from Belgium’s Wallonie region flew to Vietnam on January 12 to sound out business opportunities, particularly in healthcare in Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegate is led by Jose Happart, President of the Wallonie Region’s Parliament and head of the Management Board of Liege Airport.

In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency prior to his departure, Mr Happart said the delegation is scheduled to meet with Vietnamese leaders to seek cooperation opportunities, including the establishment of partnership between Liege Airport and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport. He said he will discuss with Vietnamese leaders a project to build a general warehouse for Vietnamese farm products to be exported to the European Union at Liege Airport.

Vietnam and Wallonie will have good prospects for trade exchanges thanks to Vietnam’s quality products and Belgium’s professional distribution network,” said Mr Happart.

Mr Happart will also meet with leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and universities in Hanoi to boost relations between the two sides.
