“We regret the decision to refuse the extradition of Ly Tong to Vietnam made by the Bangkok-based Court of Appeals on April 3", said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Dung in reply to reporters’ questions the same day about Vietnam’s reaction to the ruling.

Ly Tong has taken action flagrantly violating Vietnamese sovereignty, security and laws as well as the International Treaty. Tong’s terrorist acts should be dully punished. The court’s ruling is unfair and completely contrary to Thai, Vietnamese and international laws as it is incompatible with the fine development of relations between Vietnam and Thailand as well as the joint efforts of the two countries in the fight against crime and terrorism in the region and the world, Mr Dung said.
