The northern province of Bac Ninh held a ceremony on September 20 to receive 21 ‘sovereignty’ stones from the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

The stones, granted by the Naval Command, will be placed in the Bac Ninh provincial museum to keep local people fully aware of the country’s sovereignty and its maritime strategy.

Participants were shown documentaries on the life of Vietnamese soldiers on Truong Sa islands.

On the occasion, Bac Ninh presented VND500 million to people living in the Truong Sa area and a VND3.5 billion canoe to the Naval Command.

The province also awarded gifts to the Bac Ninh families whose children are working on Truong Sa islands.
