The visit aims to promote the friendship between the two navies as well as cooperation between the two countries. 

Later in the day, the Australian officers and sailors paid a courtesy visit to leaders of the HCM City People’s Committee. 

Le Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Committee, underlined the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.

He spoke highly of Australia’s support and assistance to Vietnam and HCM City in training defence officers and fighting crime. 

During its stay in the city, the delegation also engaged in charitable and sporting activities with the Navy Technical School and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University.
