A number of activities on the sideline of the upcoming 16th ASEAN summit began taking place at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on April 5.

The same day, the summit’s press international centre also became operational. The centre is equipped with modern facilities, such as computers with Internet access, printers, photocopiers, telephones and faxes. It has a conference room that can hold up to 300 people and a smaller one that can take 50 people. By the end of April 4, more than 600 reporters, including 300 foreigners had registered to take part in the event.

Also the same day, an exhibition of ASEAN cultural heritage opened at the National Convention Centre and will last until April 9.

Hanoi police are doing their utmost to ensure traffic safety for the summit.
