The conference, initiated by Vietnam, aims to promote cooperation between the armed forces of ASEAN countries in coping with the region’s security challenges and in building an ASEAN Political and Security Community by 2015 for the sake of peace and stability.

Entitled ‘ASEAN Military Medicine Cooperation – toward the future’, the conference will focus on the roles, functions, and duties of chiefs of military medicine. It will also discuss Vietnam’s initiatives aimed at increasing mutual understanding and exchange of experience and expertise between young military medical staff.

There will be bilateral meetings on military medicine between Vietnam and delegations from the region.
