The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) Vietnam met in northern Ha Tay province on January 24 to announce a plan of action for 2007.

The council will focus on four major areas, including information, consultancy, personnel training and business competitiveness improvement, to help local enterprises successfully integrate into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)'s economic life.

It will also build a website to provide necessary information about Vietnam's business activities and investment environment to business circles of ASEAN member countries and seminars and business forums.

In particular, the council plans to host a plenary session of the ASEAN BAC in March, which is expected to draw the participation of hundreds of leading businesses from ASEAN member countries.

The ASEAN BAC was set up in Indonesia in April 2003 with its members being appointed by the Prime Ministers of ASEAN member countries.
