While meeting with the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations in Hanoi on July 22, Mr Triet discussed their recent activities and acknowledged their proposals to make their activities more practical in the new era.
He confirmed that the Party, State and people have high hopes for artists who will continue to create highly valuable and influential pieces of work to meet the people’s needs and contribute to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with its traditional identity.
Painter Vu Giang Huong, Chairwoman of the Union, briefed the State President on the contributions to the nation made by 34,000 artists across the country. She said that the artists have incorporated the Party and State’s policies into their artworks to keep up with the quick tempo of modern life.
The Union and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly completed a project that has proposed a number of new policies for artists to encourage them to produce interesting artworks.
