Vietnamese ambassador Duong Chi Dung has presented his credentials to Monaco’s Prince Albert II and conveyed State President Truong Tan Sang’s invitation to him to visit Vietnam.

Ambassador Dung said Vietnamese leaders and people were delighted at the fine development of relations between Vietnam and Monaco since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 2007 and wished to expand cooperation with Monaco for mutual benefits.

For his part, Prince Albert said he was very impressed by Vietnam’s land and people and could never forget his visit to the country for the Seventh Francophonie Summit held in Hanoi in 1997.

He praised Vietnam’s achievements in the cause of national construction and development and expressed full support for bilateral cooperation in culture, tourism, oceanography and environmental protection as well as multilateral cooperation among the Francophone community.

On the occasion, ambassador Dung also met with Monaco’s Foreign Minister Jose Badia and other senior officials to discuss measures to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Monaco in the future.
