During the visit, the delegation met with Lao President Choummaly Xayasone who expressed his delight at the two countries’s joint efforts to bring the special Vietnam-Laos relationship to a higher level.

Mr Rua briefed Mr Xayasone on the elections of deputies to the 13^th National Assembly and People’s Councils, Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2011 and key tasks of bringing the 11^th Party National Congress’ resolution to life.

He also informed the Lao State leader about the outcomes of the talks between the two Central Party Commissions for Organization, resulting in the signing of an action programme for the coming period.

Mr Xayasone praised the constant development of special relations between the two countries as well as between the two Central Party Commissions for Organization.
