On this occasion, Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang sent a letter to the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army delegation who are currently in training in Moscow.

In the letter, he noted that, at the invitation of the Russian Defence Minister and with the consent of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Ministry of National Defence had decided to send 86 personnel, including officers, cadets, and professional soldiers, selected for their outstanding qualities, competence, fitness, and bearing. They represent the Vietnam People's Army and come from the Infantry Officer Training School No. 1 as well as various other agencies and units.

General Giang emphasized that this is an occasion to pay tribute to the tremendous contributions and sacrifices of Soviet soldiers and Allied forces, including Vietnamese revolutionaries in the Great Patriotic War.

He also underscored that the event affirms Vietnam’s foreign policy and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

Despite time constraints and differences in training pace, the Vietnamese delegation has shown great resolve, fully understood their mission, and demonstrated strong determination. They have overcome various challenges, trained diligently, and safely deployed to Russia. Adapting quickly to the climate and weather, they are continuing their preparations for the parade with the highest spirit and morale, Giang said.
