Typical foreign delegates of the friendship and solidarity movement during the two Vietnamese resistance wars met in Hanoi on Sept. 1 for a get-together to celebrate 65 years of Vietnam and international solidarity.

The delegates also included representatives of international organizations that have helped Vietnam during the country’s renewal process.

On behalf of the Vietnamese State, Party and people, the Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan warmly welcomed Vietnam’s loyal friends, who have supported the country in its struggle for national liberation in the past and during construction and development at present.

He said he believes that Vietnam would continue to receive more support as well as solidarity, friendship and the cooperation of foreign governments and people.

Foreign friends’ assistance to Vietnam has encouraged the country to overcome many challenges to gain victories in all fields in order to build a bright future for the whole nation following the path that selected by late President Ho Chi Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Xuan Hong said.

Foreign participants took this occasion to congratulate Vietnam on its National Day (Sept. 2).

They recalled the solidarity of other countries in the world with Vietnam’s resistance wars, affirming that the country’s struggle was a process of a brave fight for national independence and freedom.
