On behalf of the Party and State leadership, Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented the 45-year Party membership badge to General Secretary To Lam, stressing that the ceremony carried special significance in recognising nearly half a century of continuous effort, discipline and tireless dedication by To Lam to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
Over 45 years as a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam has held many important positions, from grassroots units to the highest leadership post of the Party. In all circumstances and in every role, he has consistently upheld firm political resolve, shown absolute loyalty to the Party’s ideals, devoted himself to serving the Fatherland and the people, adhered steadfastly to Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, and pursued the goals of national independence and socialism. He has preserved the moral integrity of a revolutionary cadre and demonstrated the pioneering and exemplary spirit of a Party member.
In particular, since assuming the great responsibility of Party General Secretary during a historically significant transition period with many changes and challenges, To Lam has demonstrated his role as a core figure of unity. Together with the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat, he has worked to unify will and action, uphold responsibility before the Party and the people, and lead the country to achieve important results.
Tran Cam Tu noted that with strategic vision, innovative thinking and decisive action, General Secretary To Lam has closely directed the restructuring and streamlining of the political system’s organisational apparatus, working toward a compact, strong system with improved efficiency and effectiveness that is gradually operating in a stable and smooth manner and has won the support of officials, Party members and the public.
He added that in all policy orientations, To Lam consistently places the people at the centre, regards the people’s well-being as the Party’s highest goal, and has paid particular attention to, and provided firm direction on, social welfare, education, healthcare, and care for children, vulnerable groups, people with meritorious service and policy beneficiaries, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
Expressing his deep emotion upon receiving the distinction, Party General Secretary To Lam said it was a great honour for himself and his family, and a recognition by the Party of a Party member’s long process of effort, discipline and dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
He conveyed his sincere thanks to the Party, to previous generations of leaders, to comrades and fellow citizens; expressed gratitude to agencies and units where he had worked; and thanked collectives and individuals who had consistently placed trust in him, shared encouragement and offered candid reminders throughout his years of service.
He affirmed that over 45 years in the ranks of the Party, he has always carried in his heart the Party member’s oath of honour, absolute loyalty to the Party’s goals and ideals; lifelong dedication to national independence associated with socialism; commitment to the happiness of the people; and readiness to accept and fulfil all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.
He stressed that all personal growth, achievements and honours he has received stem from the Party’s sound leadership; from Ho Chi Minh Thought, ethics and style; from the nurturing, education and training provided by Party organisations at every stage; and especially from the sincere, principled comradeship shared among colleagues.
“The 45-year Party membership badge is a source of pride and, at the same time, a profound reminder for me to continue self-reflection and self-correction, to constantly cultivate revolutionary ethics, preserve the dignity and honour of a Party member, and uphold a strong sense of responsibility and exemplary conduct in thought, morality, lifestyle and the fulfilment of assigned duties,” he said.
Emphasising the rising demands of the renewal process and of building, defending and developing the country in the new period, General Secretary To Lam said he was increasingly aware of his responsibility to maintain political resolve, remain steadfast in the Party’s goals and ideals, match words with actions, and dare to think, act and take responsibility for the common interests.
“I pledge before the Party and the people that I will continue to devote all my commitment, responsibility and experience to the common cause; always place the interests of the Party, the Fatherland and the people above all else; and live and work in a manner worthy of the Party’s trust, the people’s affection and the noble title of a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam,” General Secretary To Lam emphasized.
